About Us
Alaf is a nomads restaurant. The meaning of the word derives from Asaf which means burning amber fire and has transformed in to Alaf with Kurdish dialects. All this history and culture combined makes Alaf a unique restaurant offering dishes from many different cultures. You might find yourself tasting Kurdish, Armenian or even Yezidi dishes while visiting Alaf.
People used to sit around a laid table in the center of their living room to socialise and to taste dishes coming out from wood ovens, pits and stoves. Alaf uses these same techniques to prepare these dishes and serve them in a different atmosphere for you to enjoy.
You will be able to enjoy these different cultures while tasting our home made craft beers or some Assyrian wines at Alaf's dining tables. We will try to convey the experience that we value so much and try to preserve so that it wont be lost.
